Hawaiian Petroglyphs

Pu'u Loa Petroglyphs In The National Park
Description

Puu Loa, translated as the "long hill"or "Hill-(of)-long-(life)" from Hawaiian, is a place sacred to the people of Hawai`i, and those of Kalapana on the Big Island in particular.

Located near the coastline in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, this heritage site has petroglyphs dating as far back as the 16th century. These figures are a glimpse into a lost era from old Hawaii.
